For this weeks article, we wrote a blog article for Pro Sound Effects blog about how to clean up dialogue using a process of elimination.
Dialogue is king. It not only conveys key information and moves the plot along, but allows the audience to form connections with the characters. It is therefore paramount to ensure a constant flow of clean and coherent dialogue throughout your film wherever possible... However, filmmaking can be a noisy business, and sadly there will always be occurrences, issues with equipment, or human error. Common issues include Preamp noise, unwanted background noise, and involuntary mouth noises such as clicks and pops.

We are pleased to announce the digital release of the American horror film The Haunting Of Pottersfield.

We are pleased to announce the digital release of the American horror film The Haunting Of Pottersfield, which is now available to watch on the online streaming platform ALTER. Our role on this film was Sound Designer.
The Haunting of Pottersfield, directed by Andre Dixon tells the story of two paranormal researchers that stay overnight in one of the most haunted places in the United States.
For our work on this film, we won the award for "Best Sound Design" at both the Independent Horror Movie Awards and the Independent Short Awards Los Angeles. As well as these accolades, we also won several other awards for our sound design work.
Director Andre Dixon had this to say about our work
Alex is a master craftsman who pays attention to every detail and worked continuously with me to get me the sound I was looking for in my film.
Some of the comments on Facebook had this to say about the film.
Short and sweet (brilliant) I love these shorts that make you feel scared instead of long drawn out finger tapping moments in feature lengths
This was a truly spooky short. Filled with genuine tension and every scare was well earned. Very deserving of a feature. Great job Andre and crew
Holy Sh*t! That was scary AF! And I don't scare easily!

After months of planning and preparation, we are thrilled to announce that we have purchased a building and have begun the process of assembling our brand new studio facilities.

After months of planning and preparation, we are thrilled to announce that we have purchased a building and have begun the process of assembling our brand new studio facilities. This move will allow us to further widen our service offering and improve our client experience.
The building was an Edwardian stables that has since been re-purposed into office spaces. With us now taking ownership of the building, we will be making numerous renovations and upgrades whilst staying true to its original heritage.
By moving into a larger space we will have the means to expand our operations and services, in keeping with the vision and technical consistency that we have already established. Clients will feel more at home and will more easily disconnect from the outside world.
We will document the process in terms of soundproofing techniques and materials, lighting, acoustics, and workspace design. We will share what we learn from the build process with the community in this blog and on our weekly vlog, for you to implement in your own D.I.Y projects.
We have 4 separate rooms along with kitchen and bathroom spaces giving us a completely stand-alone suite of facilities.
You can expect to see lots of updates from us over the coming weeks and months as we transform this building into a fully-fledged audio post-production facility.

We are excited to announce the imminent release of our latest sound effects library Conspiracy Theory.
November 23, 2021
We are excited to announce the imminent release of our latest sound effects library Conspiracy Theory. This library contains a wide selection of dynamic and varied sound effects that are inspired by the sonic trends we have been observing in contemporary documentaries on streaming services.
At 344 Audio, we make a strong effort to stay up to date with sonic and cinematic trends we see emerging. After consuming various forms of factual content we identified some key sonic trends that seemed to crop up time and time again in contemporary documentaries.
Sounds such as rhythmic ticking, sharp and airy title stabs and glitchy radio effects were everywhere we looked, so we decided to create a collection of sounds based around these common trends.
We look at several documentaries as a reference for this library. These included The Last Dance, Cowspiracy, Inside Job, and Making a Murderer.
Sonic References for the library
Conspiracy theory is separated into several folders of different sounds. These sounds include low booms, rhythmic ticks, pads, radio voices, singing, pads, stabs, whistles, and production elements. All sounds have been created from both organic and digital sources to provide maximum versatility and variation.
Conspiracy theory is ideal for sound designers, editors, and composers, especially those who regularly work in factual or documetary content. The sounds contained in this library can be used to instantly add a cinematic edge to your productions, whilst intensifying the sense of excitement and mystery. Conspiracy Theory is also especially useful for designing opening titles sequences, and the stabs, ticks, and booms contained within would be right at home in a Netflix documentary.
We look forward to sharing this library with you and cant wait to hear what you create with it. Keep an eye on the 344 Audio store for the release: https://www.344sfx.com/

We are pleased to announce the upcoming release of our latest sound effects library Practical Doors.
November 23, 2021
We are pleased to announce the upcoming release of our latest sound effects library Practical Doors.
As this name suggests, Practical Doors focuses on door effects such as open/close, latches, handles, keys, knocks, and locks. Let's face it, no one wants to spend ages trawling through door samples to find one that fits, so our aim with this library is to provide audio professionals with a reliable bank of natural-sounding door effects that can be dropped straight into your timeline with no fuss.
During the recording session for this library, we focused on preserving the natural qualities of each door, and have used minimal processing or enhancement. We have also included multiple perspectives (Near, Mid, Far) to give you maximum options when selecting the right sound.
In addition to the natural door effects, we have also created a “Designed” Folder where you can find sounds of a more heavily manipulated nature.
We really enjoyed the challenge of creating this library. Who knew doors could be so much fun!
Thanks for reading this article. We hope you are keeping well.
