Work Overview:

344 Audio was brought on to provide Foley recording and editing for Cocktail 2, a major Bollywood production that required authentic, performance-driven Foley delivered on an exceptionally tight turnaround.

As the sequel to a well-known Indian film, the project needed to honour the sonic identity audiences already associated with the original while elevating it with the polish and detail expected from a modern, high-budget cinematic release.

Objectives:

1. Blend Eastern and Western Foley styles, crafting larger-than-life sounds for characters’ actions.
2. Provide meticulously recorded Foley to meet strict M&E requirements and pass quality checks.
3. Bring a diverse cast of characters to life with distinctive movements, footsteps, and sounds.

Approach:

• Cueing Foley with careful precision, ensuring each movement felt alive and immersive.
• Capturing sounds unique to Indian cinema, especially jewellery, expertly weaving them into musical sequences without distraction.
• Creating authentic vehicle Foley for four wooden carts, performed by two Foley artists simultaneously. Each sound captured character differences, social class distinctions, and historical accuracy.

The result: a vibrant Foley soundscape that enhanced storytelling, captivated audiences, and exceeded rigorous industry standards.
