Audio Post Essentials is your complete one-stop course to learn everything you need to know about audio post-production in Pro Tools.

This course is one 6-hour day per week for 10 weeks and can be done remotely or in-person at our high-spec facility with Pro Tools Ultimate and 5.1 monitoring.

COURSE DETAILS

Our In Depth course is for anyone who wants to master the art of Sound Design. If you've ever wondered how characters and worlds are brought to life in film, then this is certainly the course for you. We will unlock the secrets to constructing the formidable sounds that you hear in your favourite films and television.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

All students must have completed our Introduction to Audio course OR completed an audio engineering/equivalent undergraduate qualification or A-level.
Access to an Avid Pro Tools licence and a laptop. Avid offer a 30 day free trial of their software.

PREREQUISITES

Essential sound design theory
Development of critical listening and analysis skills
Practical experience with industry-standard equipment and software, including the Sennheiser MKH50 mic, Aquarian H2a hydrophone, Røde NTG3B, Lom Geofón, Zoom F4 Multitrack Field Recorder, Sony PCM D-100 Portable Recorder, and much more.

IN DEPTH: SOUND DESIGN

This course focuses on the development of your critical listening skills and ability to execute complex sound design. You will learn in a studio environment from professionals who work on projects for the likes of Netflix, Warner Bros., Nickelodeon and more.

Our state-of-the-art headquarters encompass an acoustically-treated Foley studio, two edit and mix suites and a teaching room complete with projector and stereo monitors.

Whether your aim is to recreate your favourite sound effects, experiment with high end, versatile gear, or enhance your storytelling sensibility, this course is for you. Our enthusiastic tutors are thrilled to help you foster an artistic passion for audio and explore the possibilities of sound capture and manipulation, all whilst learning to problem-solve creatively.

You will receive guidance and feedback throughout a series of exercises and projects - from recording all the way up to exporting your designs from Pro Tools. This will provide you with a unique portfolio applicable to a variety of projects, as well as the confidence to plan and execute complicated sound design briefs.
